Piston Questions
Re: Piston Questions
The CH you need will be based on the deck height of your block, rod length and stroke, and the position you want the piston crown in. Stock pistons have CH of ~1.55" if I recall right. There are a huge variety of SBC 23 degree pistons made for the combo of A 5.7" rod and a 3.48-3.50" stroke as well as nearly limi9tless other combos. The is nothing special about pistons for an LT1, any piston for a SBC with 23 degree heads ought to work.

Re: Piston Questions
One more question. If I am looking at a set of sbc pistons and they quote the approximate compression ratio with say 64cc heads, would this be the same as if the lt1 heads were 64cc (hypothetical)? Also I was wondering what cc the stock 94 camaro heads are? Also what is the stock compression ratio?
Thanks,
Ryan

Re: Piston Questions
Ok, now, about these 23* pistons. Will any sbc chevy piston work, because I can only find like one set that say specifically 23* pistons? I am just curious. Also, if the compression ratio is listed for a 58cc headed standard small block chevy, will that be close to the same compression ratio for a 57-8cc lt1 head? What I am wondering is if the pistons say "10.8:1 with 58cc head" that will be 10.8:1 on a standard generation I block and is that the same on an lt1? Or is it like 11.8 on an lt1 or something? I am a bit confused and I am just trying to save some money on pistons!
Thanks again,
Ryan

Re: Piston Questions
If it doesn't specify, it's for a 23 degree head. The CR will not be any different on an LT1 with the same size combustion chamber. Take a look at one of the many on-line CR calculators. There is one here on cz28.com
