ORY with stock manifolds?

Any point in doing this? I hear the stock Y is pretty restrictive, and I can't afford headers yet but I want my car louder.

I wouldn't do it. When you try to remove the nuts on the manifold for the y-pipe i would bet at least 50% of the studs will break off then you'll have to pull the manifolds to fix the studs. If you are gonna yank the manifolds you might as well do headers. I think 5 out of my 6 studs snapped. I know my buddies car was the same way.

The gains from the ORY pipe along probably dont justify the hassle and possible fabrication involved to mate them up to stock manifolds. I would wait, save some more money, and buy the headers and y-pipe together.

Re: ORY with stock manifolds?

I misunderstood, I thought the ORY would bolt up to stock manifolds too.

Thanks guys, I guess I'll just wait for headers

you can get off road y-pipe that will fit up to your manifolds, but then when you step up to headers its not going to fit the headers. Most headers don't exit in the same spot as the manifolds.

Re: ORY with stock manifolds?

Back about 4 years ago SLP had a sell on their Y-pipe for stock exhaust.. $70.00 and I noticed a difference.... But today, I would save up for headers/Y-pipe combo....
