Pinion Angle......What is Mine set at???
On the angle finder that came with my Spohn.....I recorded a 2 on the pinion ( which is to the right from 0 on the angle finder) And on the DS I recorded a -3 (to the left from 0 on the angle finder)
I may be a total idiot for not knowing ..... Just wanna see if I am calculating correctly.....Would this be a - 1 Pinion Angle..????? Thanks....

Re: Pinion Angle......What is Mine set at???
Hard to follow... but it sounds like -5deg to me. Sounds like your DS is point up toward the front of the car at +2deg, and your pinion shaft is pointing down at -3deg toward the front of the car, so the difference between the two angles woudl be (-3) -(+2) = -3 - 2 = -5
Re: Pinion Angle......What is Mine set at???
With the angle finder on the Torque arm mount the angle finder was at 2....Thats going right ....from the 0
With the finder on the DS it was at 3 ....Left of the 0 ....
Thats looking from the drivers side if that makes a difference

Re: Pinion Angle......What is Mine set at???
BTW......Would that cause a whine...if I was doing a burnout???? If it is in fact at -5?????? I am sure it would.....But just to verify???
Re: Pinion Angle......What is Mine set at???
I would think the first thing you would notice with too much negative pinion angle would be vibration in the driveshaft under normal and mild load conditions. When you put a lot of torque to the system, the angle tends to straighten out. But starting at -5deg would seem to be excessive for even the most powerful setup.
As far as your readings, think about it. From what you described, when you moved the angle finder from the DS to the pinion, the pointer moved 5 degrees. It started 2deg on one side of "0", and ended up at -3deg on the other side of "0". Stating "right" and "left" gets confusing, because I don't know which side of the car you are on.

Re: Pinion Angle......What is Mine set at???
If you start with both the drive shaft and the torque arm mount on the rear axle at the same angle and call that angle 0, adjust the torque arm so the pinion start lowering. When they are 1 degree apart that is -1. Right now it sounds like you are at -5.
