picked up my heads last night

i picked up a set of stock heads from a friend of mine for my 97 ss and i am dropping them off at lloyd's sometime this week. i have narrowed it down to 3 different cams:

268xfi
cc502
hotcam kit

is there a major difference between the specs on these cams that i would notice on the street?

6spd? Auto? stock short block? supporting mods? thats all going to play a factor in how different they act or how similar they would see drivability-wise.

a4, 3.23, 2800 stall
355 (stock crank or Eagle cast)
mac headers
le1 heads

268xfi or cc502
comp lifters 850-16
comp valve locks 648-16
comp valve seals 501-16
comp valve springs 26918-16
comp steel retainers 787-16
trickflow pushrods 21407100
trickflow guide plates 30400623-8
comp pro mag rockers 1302-16
*comp spring seats 4705-16

don't know if i need spring seats or not. it did not specify that on the comp cams website. i have done some research and i guess it is a general consensus that the beehives will not work with the stock lt1 spring seats.

it seems like the hotcam kit will probably be less hassle, the least expensive, and the least powerful than the two cams mentioned above. it probably has the best longevity of the the three mentioned since it does not have extreme lobes.

i hate to ask so many questions but everytime i do a search, i find out new info and it makes it that much harder to make a decision. but, i have narrowed it down to these three cams. i also thought about the gm845 but.......

Use one of Lloyd's cams that have proven results with his heads.

Yea If your having Lloyd port them then get a cam to match it the best. He will be the most help for this question because he knows what he will be doing to the heads.

The 502 makes a little bit more power over the hotcam but if I had to choose from the two I would pick the hotcam kit because of the price. I know you took that out but just giving you my opinion.

Just have the stock crank checked out and use that. Also just go with whatever cam Lloyd recommends after telling him your goals.

Just my opinion but the 503 maybe a better choice with that stall and heads.

I am using the same heads/cam on my car. I have a 97 M6 as opposed to your A4 though. I am also in Dallas. We have essentially the same setup with the difference being the transmission and I have LTs. You should send me a PM and let's compare dyno sheets and see if the two of us can't help each other with the tuning aspect.

if it were me, le1 or cc503. Both will yeild the similar power, driveability, mpg's, etc. If your only getting le1 heads i would def. get bigger valves. They will wake up the heads quite a bit.

Yep, $200 for upgraded 2.02/1.60 valves worked well for me. You can spend more money and get the 2.00/1.56 valves if you wanted and they are a perfect fit for the stock seats.
