Good info guys...my MSD appears to be working fine, but with the occasional stumble, I figured why not try something else in the aftermarket, or even get another blaster coil.

Perhaps stock will be the best bet, we'll see

I noticed a difference in throttle response, when i put on the Accell 300+ digital ignition. Of course the coil was five years old, maybe that had something to do with it. I'm just running an Accel coil now. The digital box shorted out and took the 1st Accel coil and ignition module and opit spark with it.

I've tried MSD, Accel and ended up with the stock AC Delco coil. Runs smoother with the stock one.

That is a sad story man, seriously. Dont mess with the ignition, stock coil all the way, unless you running like the lt4 conversion or something.......

I was under the impression the stock coil was good for 5K volts and aftermarket coils are good for 40K+ volts. I was told that at higher RPM's the stock coil couldn't keep up, recharge wise. Reading some of these post, I no longer believe that.

I'm no expert but i know the stock coil is rated at like 35k or something like that, nothing low at all, maybe 30k, but stil respectable and all moderately modded lt1 would ever need in my opinion.
