performance gains to be had with MARCH pulley set?

I'm thinking of buying the march (or however they spell it) pulley kit, is this a good kit?? will i feel any gains or is it a waste of money???

Also i heard these underdrive the waterpump as well... is that true? cause if it is wouldn't that be bad for my engine???

Unless you consistently run at high rpm, underdrive pulleys are a bad idea.

most of the time i'm in low RPM's but is a 20% underdrive really going to effect my charging??? i mean i have tons of extra power as it is... no sound system in this car!!

Your Q has been more than answered several times...
The water pump DOES NOT drive off the serpentine belt[nor does the AIR pump or the oil pump] it drives off the timing cover... therefore a pulley change obviously isn't going to change it...
'Are you going to feel it?' NO... I barely felt CAI and that frees a lot more HP than a UD pulley!
[stop clogging the board with the same Q over and over please?..]

yes bt i called a place around here called K and K racing and they told me the water pump DOES run off the main crank pulley! so im like what the! in the post people said it doesn't! thats why i posted again to get some more input, also this time i posted about the march pulleys... before the topic was more broad and included all underdrive pulleys... thank you very much for reminding me of something i never forgot in the first place instead of putting in your own input!!!!

That place doesnt know what they are talking about.Listen to the people on this site who own and work on them.Go look at your w/p and see if you see a pulley on it.You wont see one because it isnt belt driven it is driven off the front of the cam.

the water pump is cam driven, hence the advantage of going to an electric waterpump to free up hp.

god i've posted this link so many times i can remember it without looking it up and c/p it..

I agree with joeSS97. I also suggest never going to that place again.

If you had mentioned your conversation with K&K racing, you would have gotten a different responce. Did you tell them you were refering to an LT1? All underdrive pulleys are basically the same as far as reduction goes. You might not have trouble with charging since you have an M6. It idles at 800rpm. The people with the most problems are A4's, idles at 550rpm stock.

If you throw on a 25% underdrive pulley and go from 3.42 to 3.73 gears at the same time (10% lower gear/10% higher revs per mph)

does that mean your alternator will experience just a 15% reduction in rpm?

if you go to 4.10 (20% lower gear) then it will be just 5%?
