........: 7.500 is stock length. After measuring with adjustable pushrod kit(Comp Cams CCA-7705) and Manley pushrod length checker (Manley MAN-42132) I found that the length measured was 7.850. This was in the middle of the TFS offerings of 7.800 and 7.900 so I opted for the 7.9's.

Still needing stud girdle and tall valve covers that will clear the alternator. Anyone have a reference/experience with the tall LT1 valve covers?

The canton aluminum valvecovers should clear the stud girdle.

Obviously, mines not together yet but the guy from whom I purchased my solid roller said he got 457 rwhp out of it with a similar config. That being;
383 LT1, stock but ported LT1 castings(his was a home port job, mine a pro), 11:1 CR, stock 48mm TB, Hooker LT.

I have a solid roller & cnc lt1 heads from AI. The usual SR stuff: TI retainers, morel lifters, stud girdle, etc. I would have ran shaft mounts if I didn’t already have the comp promag rockers. They work, but I may upgrade to jesels this spring. I have the moroso centerbolt tall valve covers, no clearance issues. The only thing you have to do is get a alternator relocation bracket. It puts the alternator where the air pump used to go.

I got 480 rwhp & 419 rwtq out of my 355.

The vid has still pictures of my valve covers and valve train.

The SR is bad ***, I don't thnink I will ever go HR on another performance engine again.

Are your valves still stock length stems? If so, what length pushrod did you go with?

its way back on the first page but the heads were done by TEA. 220cc TFS LT1 head. 63cc chambers, 2.08/1.60 valves, flowed 317 @.700. I'm running a domed piston for 12.4 static compression, and a cam motion SR. 263/270 .686/.674 lift. dynamic comp comes in right at 8.9-9.0 (cant remember exactly, the numbers are starting to just all blurr together ) Should make for a really nasty idle in a 355 but its not a street car anymore.

My original goal was to build a motor with 550 fwhp. working with my machinist we ended up shooting a little long I think. I went overboard in a few areas so that even if I fell short I will have a reasonable chance of hitting my goal. I think this motor is capable of 600fwhp. Its got alot of good stuff on it from the Canton pan all the way up to the LT4 intake. Heck I even indexed and numbered the plugs...

Anybody have any problems with low idle oil pressure?. I know this was a problem with these setups in the past. Im just wondering if this problems is still out there.
