Thanks for all the info and ideas guys it seems to me the problem lies iin my manly guideplates. i was going to do the other side also but i couldnt get my valve cover off due to the egr adapter on my wonderfuly designed slp headers and there is no way im unbotling them judt to get a friggin valve cover off. Thank god i only paid 150 for them well i finally got fed up from having nothing but problems trying to do this rocker swap and put everything back to stock. so everything will be up for sale. rockers,pushrods,isky 235d springs with l98 spring cups needed for lt1 use and also lt4 hot cam springs,lash caps,arp 7/16th rocker bolts top and bottom. instead of taking apart my car over and over again to add more puny bolt ons for that extra 15 hp. im now going to look into starting from scratch and just go ballz out with a new motor with all the goodies. then switch it all in in one weekend along with a new tranz. shouldnt be no more than 2-3 years to build the motor and tranz after the saving up. lol.
