Ok just how loud is your valvetrain after doing roller rockers? I only have one side done right now but its sounds like it would if all the rockers werent adjusted yet. And yes i adjusted them twice while the engine was running and a 1/4 past 0. ive had roller rockers on my 85 firebird and dont remember them being loud to the point of hearing them clear as day inside the car even with the loudmouth exhaust. Any ideas???
yeah i tried going 1/2 but the car bogged while idling when i did it so i went with 1/4 turn. its sounds like a very serious tapping but the car is running good. btw i should mention im running 1.7 rrs with the springs from sar2ks old setup. i also check around it with my mechanic stethoscope and under the engine too. and it isloud oming from the insode of the block as well. I wonder if i have a collasping lifter> I just hit 90,000 on the odometer today......hmmmm this is my second attempt at this wap due to getttig bent pusrods and trying to use hotcam sprngs the first time. the first time i had a noise s bad it sounded like a rod knoc. i put it back to stock and it went away. now this time i have this other noise and i want to figure out what is causing it.

Does it work? 12.3 @ 111.9 MPH

When you installed the rockers did you soak them in motor oil or assembly lube before you put them on? If you simply installed them dry then the rockers could be ruined becuase they didn't get any oil during those first few seconds of initial brake in.
ok heres an update. I am using jesel 1.7 rrs, comp guideplats ihad to grind the bolt holes of the guide plates since i didnt know lt1s were different rocker stud spacing then the traditional smb chevy. i am also using lash caps.(the noise is there with or without them) I wentotside to try somthing else. to me the worst of the noise seems to be coming from the #1 cyl. so this is what i did. i disconnected the injector for that cyl making it a dead cylinder. i then completly loosened the exhaust rocker and viola the noise is almost gone(the other rockers are still making noise just not as bad) I then did the same to the intake side and it further decreased the noise. Well this i what i was thinking, earlier i put the guideplate on that cyl upsidedown. it didnt have any noise really but the intake rocker was not lining up propery with the valve stem so i took it off and flipped it right side up. i also took out the pushrod on the exhaust after my little test and found a wear mark, almost gouge like about 1-2 inches above the pivot ball, the mark is the length of about 1/8-1/4 of a inch and the width of about 5 brush brissels put together. im thinking because of grinding out the boltholes on the guideplates so i could instal them they obviously arent lined up perfect causing the pushrod to slap up against the side of the pushrod bore. what do you guys think of my theory??
PS Yes the rockers were oiled before being installed

14011051. They're packaged individually, so you'll need 8 of them. The whole set only cost me $19.50, though. These are the only "bolt-on" set of guide plates made for the LT1.

I thought that was the number.

I trapped 111.8 with the 218/224 full weight so yeah, i think we did something right.
(we just won't mention my crappy 60' and ET at beaver springs, hahah)Yes they are noisy, i definitly cannot hear them in the car and i have a quieter exhaust. I knew they were going to be noisier, but i did call my cousin over and pop his hood and listen to his valvetrain to confirm that much extra noise was ok. 1.6 pro mag nonSA.
