Re: Pcmforless Tuning Vs. Madz28

Guy's dont get on my case about it ...

It would have been overkill now. When I build my car, it wouldnt be. A nice monoblade would be perfect for a low compression turboed or supercharged 383. And it sure wouldnt hurt on a LE3 headed LE1 cammed motor ...

It irritated me thats all. I don't care if it was problematic. I can work on things for myself. If I thought it was too much, that should be my decision. I wasn't going to keep hounding Alvin with questions about it after I got it. I just wanted to know a little more about it. What it was equiped with and wasnt. And what, if anything was done with the return spring as it would flare up some on WOT shifts. I feel that I as the buyer should have been the one to determine if I am qualified to make it work.

However, in his defense, I guess I should say that he was only looking out for himself with it. And now that I read his post, I almost can't blame him for not wanting to I guess.

That aside, I have heard great thigns about both places doing great mail-order tuning. I just felt blown off about the whole incident and it got under my skin.

Thats one that has puzzled me while after i read your sig. How come you want LE3 heads and LE1 cam. I thought LE3 heads were really set up to want revs then the LE1 cam is designed to not rev as high as the others. That seems kind of contradictory to me.

I use PCMFORLESS. Bryan Herter is a good guy. I have changed my program on my OBD1 conversion atleast 10 times at no extra charge. He will answer the phone and will answer any questions you have no matter how many you have.

I went with Ion at MADZ28 and I'm very pleased. Poor guy, I must have picked his brain for an hour. My times I think speak well for his work, as my car has full power leather, t-tops, and other heavy stuff. Also cool to see An LT1 stay at 190 degrees in Florida heat.

Z95m6 ~ They are. It is contradictory now. Those heads will suite me well for a boosted 383 though. I didnt want to get LE1 heads now, and then want to get something bigger later when it is a supercharged or TT stroker motor. I basically was looking for the best bang for your buck heads. And a get-me-by cam for now to make some more horsepower until I can build it with a blower cam later. I know it sounds dumb without understanding what I planned to do with the car. If I was going to stay NA forever, I would have probably went with a LE2 set up all the way around.

I just figured a LE3 head would be great for later. And a LE1 cam would be better for now because I wont have to wind it out as far on the stock bottom as I would with the LE2 or 3 set up.

And I really wanted to try and do this build up with stock castings. I know it wont make the most power possible, but I am not looking for that. Just some whicked boosted stroker motor with decent heads and a nice ported intake.

I've had good luck with Ion.
