PCMForLess??

okay i have a REALLY rich condition on the car right now and i need a good cost effective way to bring my A/F ratio closer to where it needs to be to run right. i just blew my stash of cash on the installation of my headers, so would the guys at pcmforless be able to hook me up with what i need or am i better off waiting a couple of weeks...might be up to a month from now to do some dyno tuning with LT1 Edit? also once i get the money i want to dyno tune to get everything exact, so will i be able to reprogram their program, or is it there forever for some reason?

thanks,

Jared

P.S. my A/F is right around 11.1@WOT and is about 12.0 at idle. so i just dont want to be running around drowning out my power and maybe killing my cats with the raw fuel that is probably dumping into my brand new FLP exhaust.

Any programming pcmforless does, you should be able to edit later if needed.

I completely agree 100% here. My hypertech is on eBay and my car has been sitting in the garage since the Hot Cam went in. Where Pcmforless offers a decent tune for ur $$$, u can't be the real time affects of a Dyno Tune. With things like PCMforless or even a typical reprogramming, u r basically using a sort of "guess and check" method. Plus each programmer has their own different idea of where they think the "limits" are on certain programming feautres, such a Rev limit and fuel curve. With a dyno tune, ur getting a full programming, which if properly done, can be a safe way to squeeze as much reasonable power from ur car without hurting the engine. I have seen some people gain as much as 18 RWHP from a dyno tune. I plan on going to www.ls1speed.com for my tuning. If u contact them, they can provide u with some good info. Hope this helps, lata.

I don't think anyone can argue that a dyno tune is not the best. Not everyone can easily get one, though. That is why there are other programming options out there.

Go with pcmforless, Bryan knows his stuff. Stands behind his work if there is a problem too.

with me running so rich, will i be able to safely wait a month or so to get the dyno tune. i will get it either way, but i was just wondering if the pcmforless tune would relieve some of the stress that the rich mixture is causing so that i dont fry a cat or foul out my plugs. if i can SAFELY go a month or so like i am then i will do that, but safety is my #1 thing here. i spent a lot of money on those headers and i dont want anything to happen to any part of the system just because i cant afford to tune it right now. and it is daily driven if that effects anything.

yeah i know what your saying. The only major thing I would worry about is your oil being contaminated from running overly rich. Just make sure it stays it clean for the most part. Pcmforless can definately help you out. Your cat might go to ****, but I think you might be alright for a month hopefully. I think you will be fine for now.
