I think either is good as far as the tuning goes, as it says its an unlimited tune, take it to the dyno and they don't have it right, they fix it for free . Ion is cheaper and has the gaurantee, im not sure about pcmforless they may have a gaurantee as well. I've never had problems getting in touch with ion.

These garentee's are great in all but how are you going to prove that you gain 13 rwhp or not? it can vary that much by just temperature--or in your head---if you are doing the seat of the pants dyno.......and who pays to dyno before and after a mail order tune---otherwise you'd get the a dyno tune.

Garentee or not they both are good from what i hear

by the way which uses the leaner programming? my mind is blank, the higher the ratio the leaner it is. SO PCM4less uses a learner set-up? makes sense why they can get more hp.

Well, Im a the new guy on the block also as far as tuning goes and figure I should post here also to at least get the word out and put in my $.02 as well. Just for some quick backgroud info on myself...I have Bachelors degree in computer programming/information management. I most recently completed EFI Tuning Speicalist Certification Courses at a local tech school. I have tuned various LTx and a few LS1 vehicles on a dynojet dyno at a local speed shop(Stropes). I have done tunes for a few board members over the past month or so as well as a good amount o tunes for local guys with 96 or 97 LT1 and LT4 cars(cause thats all the years I had unlimited..till now) I have references from the board members as well as locals if ever needed. I just finished making all the final major purchases of unlimited versions of LT1/4 and LS1/6 Edit for ALL vehicles that come with one of those engines(vette, fbody ctsv, gto, impala, roadmaster, ect...yougot the engine/pcm...Ill tune it) As well as many, many other needed items such as misc. programmers(for import and domestic chips), diagnostic software and LM1 wideband O2 sensor(for local tunes), Intel chips/sockets,ect, soldering/desoldering station, new laptop, new pc, spare PCMs, offboared cables, ect, ect).

Proper tools and equipment are essential IMO to having a successful and productive business. So, I spared no expense at all on anything for this business of mine. I will not be abusing your boards/chips with very high temp heat guns to remove chips or super hold uncontrolled temp. solder tips top solder them in, ect. I will be using only the finest tools(like temperature, voltage and humidity controlled soldering/desoldering stations), that are available to work on your important computer(s) and parts. The majority of my work will come from Jeff at CHRracingproducts Im going to be doing the tunes for his race heads packages and other customers of his. But, I will offer tuns to anyone and everyone via my upcoming websites...prices will be according to tune/vehicle. Wideband O2 and Diagnostic sessions also available for local guys!

You can click on the link in my signature to see the quick mention of the plans on my personal site and a little more info.

Anyhow, my other intention of posting here was because of the gains asked about stock cars. At the tuning courses I just took we used a 2002 ZO6 vette as the tuning test car. Needless to say, I was able to find 18.3rwhp in it in stock form. The class teacher was able to get 21.4rwhp. So, stock cars do have hidden hp potential...just gotta work the correct tables in the right way for that application. The thing is...thats very hard if not impossible to do correct without access to wideband and diagnostics while tuning it. Its basically a guessing game without that(which is what mail order tuning is).

I have also seen a few PCM for less tunes dyno tested and they did not pick up more than 10-12hp either....over the kids stock/baseline run/tunes. The kid was told that he would see at least 20rwhp gain...go figure! Everybodys setup reacts different, so its really hard to get "great" numbers all the time with mail order tune. Best and only way to get close without a real dyno session.....is to use autotap to do some diagnostic logs while also logging the car with a wideband O2...then tune it accordingly.

Few will argue that a dyno tune is the BEST way to go, given unlimited resources. Sadly most of us can not afford to have our cars dyno tuned often.

Good luck with your business.
