PCM Ground wire not grounded issues?

The ground wire in this photo -

If it was disconnected or not getting a decent surface contact - would that cause the car to not start?

No, it won't. It may cause possible strange issues, but not starting would not be one of them. Numerous people have found that off and didn't know it. The PCM has numerous grounds.

Re: PCM Ground wire not grounded issues?

No it will not allow the car to start. I had the same exact issue where I forgot to hook up the PCM ground when I replaced the dipstick tube and oilpan gasket and spent over a week trying to figure out why the car wouldn't fire. That was my issue, as when I hooked up the PCM ground the car fired on the first try and ran butter smooth.
