Its under the hood. If you remove it the car is dead. 2 ways to do it. Buy another PCM from madz28.com so you can still drive your car while its being sent to you. Or do the exchange . You buy tuning and pay a core charge. He will send the new pcm to you and you send back the old one. ION at www.madz28.com is the man to order from.

PCM location upper left corner the gray box. I hide all my wires to clean the engine bay.

You can tune your OBD2 or do the OBD1 conversion. You get more horsepower from the conversion and less problems(SES lights)The OBD1 conversion is $226 I think complete. And you own the PCM. Just fill out the checklist of all your mods. You'll notice a difference.

You will need a LT4 knock module $35-40. It helps with the false knock. The OBD1 conversion ignores the rear O2's and the crank shaft position sensor. After that its a simple 10 min plug and play operation.

ok cool, i only asked that because it says on the site:

$225 -- OBDII to OBDI Conversion Kit for all 96-97 LT1s. Absolutely Plug and Play! Includes a modified OBDI PCM to work with your OBDII knock sensor(s) and custom programming. Free updates for a period of 3 months after the initial purchase (you pay only return shipping) then $40 plus shipping afterwards.

after seeing that i didn't know if i need something else

I would check and see if a OBD1 PCM will work with your emissions facility, I know here in MD they plug a computer into your cars PCM adapter. I dont know if you switched to OBD1 if that would efect what would happen.

You still need the LT4 knock module. He might have some in stock.
