Opti failure (again)

My last opti lasted a year. This one (brand new) only lasted two weeks.

Week one I drove 100 miles to the track, won the evnt, and drive home. I then parked the car.

Week two I drove 100 miles to the track and when I filled up with gas it never started again.

What should I be looking for to prevent this from happening? I do have another new opti which will be overnighted in tomorrow AM, along with a new harness cable and water pump gaskets and O ring. (it is a 1995 vented opti).

Can the PCM fry the opti?

Make sure you dont have any leaks near the opti. Oil leak on the opti could kill one pretty quick or an antifeeze leak could kill one. Check to make sure that the camshaft dowel pin isnt too long. I know if the dowel is too long it will put a load on the opti and make it fail premature. Also are you using AC Delco opti's? I hear that the other rebuilt ones dont last too long and arent too good.

AC Delco Opti.
I don't mind an annual replacement but every two weeks is excessive.

Can I just grind off the end of the dowel? Is a "little" short ok?
