Yes, it sounds to me like he talked to a salesman.

I'd say he was a real person...not a sales guy. He was back in the shop helping with an engine on an engine stand when he picked up the phone. I could hear what was going on in the background and know he was not BS-ing me. When he was done he went to a quiet area so we could talk.

I've done sales, and I am a marketing professional (maybe that makes me "not a real person") and I can see right through 99.99% of the BS. I know I've had to write it and dish it out before, I can tell the difference. I asked hard questions, put them on the defense to the point they canceled my order just based on my e-mail. I had to call them to get my heads back on order. We had a long civil conversation about the reality of what can go wrong with any product or service and about their commitment to stand behind their product. Not BS stuff, real honest and sincere descriptions of what they will do, how they do it, and stick to their word. In fact he basically said, you take a look, if you don't like what you see, send them back for a full refund, no questions asked.

Trust me, I will take a look as I said above and I'll be the judge of the quality. I'll then share what I see, for anyone who might be interested. I just hope it's a good product and that we will be pleased with them. And if not, oh well, we move on.

It's not the end of the world - look at all the guys who bought Eagle cranks and rods - those and some of the others are being accepted by some builders and consumers. BUT, I do think the name is misleading, and I browsed their web site and it never once entered my mind the heads were from China. If I had bought them thinking they were made in America and later found out they werent, I'd have been pissed. They should just say so instead of the charade of using misleading advertising logos. I've had a lot to do with Chinese made products in my business, and quality varies widely.

And he's right - too much OEM and a lot of aftermarket IS coming from China, unfortunately...

Not sure about the LT1 castings, but I have several friends that run there LS1 heads. They all produced nice gains and not one of them has anything bad to say about them. As a matter of fact one of my friends has been 9.9's on a stock bottom end LS1 using there 5.3 casting. Do a search on tech and you will find that tons of people use there products.
