so what's the deal with the hump coming from the center console and going under the passenger's left leg? do all camaros have this, or is it just cause I have a vert? Is there any way to pound it down, or will that affect the structural strength of the car?

 

every f-body has this hump I think it's been there since the 3rd gen (not sure if 2nd gens had it). The hump is there to provide clearence for the cat converter. If you remove the cat you might be able to pound it down but i don't think it'd turn out very pretty. although i wouldn't be surprised if someone out there had done it before.

 

u can pound it down after u get rid of your cats... it will be noticable, but nobody can see it once the floomat goes over it... however the floormat is shaped to fit it, so it'll look awkard unless u can get some aftermarket mats

 

It isn't that big of a deal to me...but that doesn't change the fact that it looks goofy. I mean, come on...the only vehicle that should have a hump like that is a yellow school bus...

 

Tell your passengers your Camaro was a GM prototype for an AWD model and that's the hump where the transfer case was. The system was removed before you bought the car.

If your passengers are ricers they might bite. Shoot, if they frequent those "other" forums they might believe it also.
