Smile Passed the sniffer

Took my car to the sniffer test today and passed no problems. I was a little worried that it might not make it with the size cam I have but the computer tunning that Tracey Scott did for me when he did my cam was excellent.
Reading Limit
HC 97.4 , 114.0 ppm
CO .30 , .63 percent
NO 82.6 , 796.0 ppm
CO2 14.55 , N/A percent

What is the duration and LSA on your cam? That's more important than anything else when it comes to smog. I'm curious to see what my car will do.

I am curious as well. If you pass with that cam I am swapping out my 305 for that right away. When is your car due for a smog? Keep us posted on the results.

Better find out what the limits are in CA first, might be tighter.

From my smog test last week:

http://www.jbelectric.us/ot/ImpalaSS...mogresults.pdf

#'s for the dyno type (strictist) smog test there is

Max HC
15mph 79
24mph 44

Max Co
15mph .45
25mph .42

Max NO
15mph 677
25mph 680

So that cam would fail in Ca due to excessice Hydrocarbens (which I think would be due to the tighter LS)

I wish it worked that way in Ca. Try about $1,000+ to do that in Ca if you can even find someone.

Fines for a mechanics doing that out here are enormous plus jail time. So not to many mechanics are willing to put themselves on the line for a few extra bucks.

And in California if you have an OBDII system you get plugged into the computer that reads your VIN and transmits the data to the state. It would be hard to fake that one.

112 degrees lobe sep and 236/244 duration. I still have track tunning to do coming up soon which is good because ive yet to run it with the cam and the extra bit of tunning should help some more too. This was with the cat on it but its got a hole the size of a quarter that I put in all the way through when I first got the car. Im welding up a straight pipe now to get rid of the cat for bolt in and out. This was also done with no AIR pump and blocked EGR.
