my car is at the shop right now having the y pipe fabricated and welded in.

they said it's gonna be 200 dollars. and i don't get a reciept because since i removed the cats it's a federal offense, and they're not gonna let me get caught, and then go say it was them who welded it up.

i would have ordered the y-pipe from redline performance, but i didn't have enough money at the time.

it's okay tho, after 125 for the pipe + shipping + having a shop weld it up, i image it would come out to around 200 anyway.

besides, it was fun driving around open headers.

not just any y-pipe will work.

hookers have bolt up flanges, pacesetters don't.

so if you get a hooker y pipe it's going to have bolt up flanges that you won't need. plus hooker headers are a little longer than pacesetters.

the same probably goes for jet-hots

edit: when i say flanges, i mean collectors

If you put on an Off Road Y, does that make things louder? What does it do?

How loud do you think this exhaust would sound...

Pacesetters LT's, and Magnaflow Cat... still unsure about which Y to go with, I was thinking just the Pacesetter Y... but I am not sure the differences. Thanks

the offroad y-pipe will not have any cats, so like you said it wont be legal.

but yes it makes it louder a little, and it tends to "hollow" the sound a little more.

When i did it on my old camaro it had way less resonance (sounds like bass)(you know bass like boom boom...music, etc)

So then I should just go with the Pacesetter Y... ok then... I guess thats settled. That still has the cats in it right? But I thought the cats were removed once LT's were installed?

From what i've heard, which is a little. The Magnaflow with LT's should sound pretty low around 2-3k then scream at wot with some seriously good sounding exhaust. But now i've been reading that the Hooker cat sounds really low and sick as ****... so many decisions... hrm

I would really like some sound clips... the exhaustsoundclips.com website sucks for LT1's. They have a sick *** LS1 sound clip *** website... dammit why can't someone make one for LT1's!!

Um, honestly i would think twice about long tubes in jersey.

for hte following reasons.

1. Inspection stations, you get tested for emmisions here and they do visuals, no cats no pass, and with long tubes, not sure how well you would pass anyway, at a public station that is.

2. They are starting to do road checks as well. so just be careful.

A road check is exactly what it says. The cops pull random people and inspect their cars. Kinda like a random sobriety test, but for your car.

I just installed some P.S long tubes this week and 2.5'' true duals using a x-pipe. I have my own thread about this telling what all was involved. I will have some pics up very soon. Needless to say, Im very happy with this purchase.
