Pacesetters

Is it true that Pacesetters have the same design as the Hooker/Jet Hot Headers? I'm seeing the Pacesetters with the chrome ceramic coating for 389+Shipping... isn't that like an awesome price?

Same design meaning... if I had a set of Hooker or Jet Hots then swapped them with a set of Pacesetters, I wouldn't notice a sound difference.

Well, they aren't completely identical. The hooker LTs have a collector where as the pacesetter headers are a slit fit design. Also, they are shaped a little differently. I doubt you would notice a sound difference though.

Check out the pictures Brent took and you can see where the major differences are.

Wow... thats pretty close. Not really sure what a slip fit collector is though... hrm

So they should produce similar numbers then?

I saw on the website... "Drag Race" headers... whats the difference with that?

If you look at the end of the header where it should connect to the y pipe, the hooker has a standard 3 bolt collector where as the pacesetter should slip over the y pipe. The numbers should be pretty similar though.

Not sure what "drag race" headers are supposed to be exactly.

Edit:
Honestly, I think I like the pacesetters better than the hookers.

You ever hear any info on them hooking up to True Duals? I want True Duals on my car. I have stock manifolds right now with a Flowmaster cat... Ugly *** tips though which are going to be changed... L0L

I would suggest you ask around, and do a search before going one way or another... I have heard very mixed responses to the Pace Setters. Some people love them, and some hate them.

True duals with the pacesetters shouldn't be any harder than any other brand of header.

For every product there are people who will swear by it and people who will swear at it. Go with the one you like best.

That is the price for Uncoated Hooker LTs... Jet Hots are 525 + shipping.. Mine ended up being $560 to my door

So then its not even worth it... Pacesetters baby!!

Should I get the O2 sensors with it? Not really sure what they do, but on the website it says that the headers need that.

So 400$ but 50 for the sensors, but whatever Y pipe I use... not even sure which direction to steer then. Any suggestions? I always hear and read about the ORY... doesn't that eliminate cats though?

Yes ORY = Off Road Y-Pipe, which means there won't be any cats.

I just noticed that your in New Jersey...
If you have emissions testing there you might want to think about this.
I would check the local laws...

I'm not sure if there is a LT design that is emissions legal.
Depending on your state laws that might be something you should want to consider...

To hell with emissions... L0L

No cats basically means a lot of volume correct? But the Flowmasters exhaust isn't the loudest exhaust system in the world so unless i'm at WOT, it should be pretty low right?

It will get alot louder with LTs and no cats. I would ditch the flowmaster for a muffler without baffles. Something with a straight through design like a dynomax ultra flow. I really like mine, it's got a nice rumble at idle and it sounds bad *** at WOT.
