Driver's side went in from the top because the head was off (broke rust exh. manifold bolt in the head). Passenger side need to be jacked up to go in.

Re: Pacesetter Headers: First Impressions

I have the same set up, Pacesetter LT and ORP with Hooker catback and I couldn't be happier. The fit is awesome and the souund is badass. The only thing I am not sure about is my idle is sort of odd sometimes after the install (I also pulled my intake during the same time as the header install for another reason). If I am cruising and I shift into neutral and/or hold the clutch in, the revs sometimes climb up to about 2,000 and dont settle until I slow to a stop. I posted about this before and got no response. Any suggestions?

I'd check for vacuum leaks and make sure all hoses were put back on the intake properly.

Re: Pacesetter Headers: First Impressions

mine sounds great, i have pacesetter LT's with the ory & the LM it will draw alot of attention and sound like your at WOT when your crusing @ 3k so beware of local cops.. and about the cats i have some what of a rasp not alot and not annoying but im feel like i lost my low end grunt due to the no cat issue so im thinking about adding 2 high flows into the y and see what happens. but that will also quiet it down some also.

How do you check for a leak.. and what would it do to performance if there were a leak? I may have this problem sometimes also.

Re: Pacesetter Headers: First Impressions

to be honest if you have no emissions then no throw in some o2sims and be done with it, here in MI we don't but if i was ever to go back to ILL then i would need them, also i found my power loss my timing is being pull almost 10 degrees due to the loudness of the set up, so im gonna throw in a LT4 km and see if things change. then i will decide on the cats or not i love the loudness and the complements, and i think the cats will kill the sound, but your car will turn alot of heads. i hope i answered you questions

I'm hearing alot of good things about these headers, I'll probably pick up a pair one of these days, but I'm going to still need my cats, it there a Y-pipe I can buy that I can use with my cats or will I have to have one made up?

Is my car a freak? Becuase it's stock and I can fishtail into 3rd gear, I thought that was normal until reading his car could only break the tires loose going into second after the header install.

It would fishtail into third with the old 245's (they still had tread and where good tires). With my new tires, 295's Toyo proxy TS-1's, it still lays rubber into third.

Do you shift real hard? I can't tell when I lose traction unless I am realllly going sideways... my exhaust is loud enough I can't even hear my tires in 1st.
