Do I need a oversize crank gear to compensate for the supposed slack in this chain? ANyone useing it with the gear it came with? How much mileage do you have, if you are using either one (oversize or one that came in box)?

 

I needed the oversized.

 

I just looked at the difference, the oversize gear has fatter teeth. The gear isnt larger in Diameter at all. So this effectively tightens the chain.

Im using the gear it came with, has alittle slack on the one side but not an excessive ammount. Have ran it for about 10000 miles with no probs.

If the oversized gear isnt much more expensive i would get it.

 

I guess the big question is, how much slack is too much and how much is acceptable?
