Maybe buy the Camaro/Firebird manual while you are there. If you've got the extra 20 bucks. It helped me out a lot. I would attempt explain step by step but I don't know enough part names to make any sense. It's fairly simple if you've got the tools. I would do some research about it though. My step-dad is a mechanic and is usually around when I'm doing work to my car. He had a few helpful pointers...things like: Keep filling the coolant when you are finished and you start the engine, because the engine is taking in the coolant and you don't want to burn your engine up. Just things like that...helps to know about.

You can get a new waterpump, but your still going to overheat. Read what I posted. IF your fans don't come on you will still overheat no matter what.

dude youd be a fool to waste time replacing the pump and adding a fan switch, theres nothing more ricer than a bunch extra wiring and switches, those are a bunch of band-aid fixes. the car has a fan switch from the factory and its the sensor in front of the water pump, and orange coollant wasnt relivant till like 2000

alright...i changed out the water pump. i drove the car for awhile and it has not over heated. i filled her up with coolant (the green). i tried to bleed the system, but nothing came out. no air. the only thing now is that i am getting a ses light. i checked to see if i left anything unpluged....but i dont think i did. any ideas on why i am getting that code? so far the pump is working....but still not sure about the fans. i didnt hear them come on....i thought that if i have a ses light on the fans would come on no matter what.....but i am not sure about that.
