Where the wires were right next to one another, behind and below the alternator, I could see some bloe sparks wen it was super dark. I also saw a spark jump from one of the wires to the lip of the valve cover where the wire came really close to it.

Getting the wire farther away from the valve cover using a cheap wire seperator from Autozone stopped that one, and convoluted tubing insulating the wires from one another below the alternator stopped that. I haven't seen any arcing since.

I have a similar setup, Taylors over the top of ProForm Valve covers and have noticed that the wires routed near the alternator are arcing. I plan on using the same convoluted tubing in hopes of remedying the problem.

Is arching really that big of a problem with aftermarket wires? I don't understand how such a high quality wire such as MSD or Taylor would have an arching problem?

are you talking heat then arching? i dont care how much money you spend on a wire, a header will absolutly melt it. taylor does have the full metal jacket wires, those are an exception
