optispark question

searched the forums and looked at what ever one had to say about the delco/msd/ect. But my mechanic said that i only needed the replace the cap and rotor. Car has been bucking since the mac header install. Should I go a head and replace the whole thing or just get the cap and rotor? Thanks guys in advance.

Did your mechanic pull the code(S), if so, what were they?

man you got me. I never saw any codes. In fact I took the car there basically told him what all I thought needed to be replaced on the car and after 3 days he called and said exactly what i told him so not sure he did anything.

If he made that judgment based on having your optispark apart on his bench and seeing that everything but the cap/rotor is in good condition, then you only need a cap/rotor. If not, you need a new mechanic.

Bucking after a header install will usually trace back to burned plug wires.
