My patients is wearing thin. the car has only been sitting for two weeks and when I went to start it, it cranked and cranked but wouldn't start. the opti has less than 2500 miles on it so I hope to f''n god thats not it, but I dont know how to test that. The coil isn't the problem, swapt them out and it still wont start. what else do I check and how. it is a stock remanufactured optispark. all I want to do is get this thing to the transmission shop to get the sun shell fixed with out the damn drama. throw some ideas at me about what else could cause a no start condition and tell me how to test for them please!

Did you scan it for codes? Did you check for fuel pressure?

 

yes, I dont know why I didn't mention that yesterday, I know the fuel pump is priming I can smell the gas and hear the pump, I know it has spark because I pulled a plug and got shocked. It started this morning on the first crank, the only thing I did was put the battery on a trickle charge over night. but the battery didn't seem weak last night, it rolled the engine over just fine, at least it sounded like it was giving full power.

 

So.... did you find any codes, and what was the fuel pressure?
