I just bought one on Saturday for $268 shipped off of Thepartsladi on EBay. I've bought parts off of them in the past and they really are genuine GM.

But you have a 95, with the VENTED Opti, which is cheaper. The original poster has a 93, with the more expensive UNVENTED unit.

I am pretty sure that they sell the unvented ones, too. From my research, this is the best price for the vented opti available (I have a friend who is a parts manager for a local Chevy dealer). I have to believe that the markups would be similar for the unvented.

Ahhh, here we go, looks like $313 shipped for the unvented:

No its not. This seller is a scammer. I am pretty sure this falls into this group. https://www.camaroz28.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=529298

Anyone know if the Delphi units are just rebranded AC/Delcos, or vice versa.

I'm interested in picking up a good spare, or two.

I assumed they were the same, but was curious about the price differential. Maybe there is more marketing, or branding, expense associated with AC/Delco.

GM sold off a lot of their parts divisions, and formed a company called "Delphi". They have the brand name rights to some AC/Delco parts. From Wikipedia:
In 1985 General Motors purchased Hughes Aircraft and merged it with Delco Electronics to form Hughes Electronics Corporation, an independent subsidiary. In 1997 all of the aerospace and defense businesses of Hughes Electronics (Hughes Aircraft and Delco Systems Operations) were merged with Raytheon, and the commercial portion of Delco Electronics was transferred to GM's Delphi Automotive Systems business. Delphi became a separate publicly-traded company in May 1999, and continued to use the Delco Electronics name for several of its subsidiaries through approximately 2004.

Although Delco Electronics no longer exists as an operating company, GM still retains rights to the Delco name and uses it for some of its subsidiaries including the AC Delco parts division.

Thanks for the info. That's not a bad price for an authentic GM opti.
