I bought an ebay opti and as usual it has deceased. Mine lasted me 6 months as an every day driver over 2k miles. my car is throwing a code 36. I have read about people changing the cap and rotor with a higher quality brand part like msd and have had no problems with their optis. if the cap and rotor are chaged will the code go away? also i will be changing the coil and opti harness.

 

The cap and rotor does not cause a code 36. It's for the optical signal. Better plan on a GM/AC-Delco/Delphi opti for better results. thepartsladi on Ebay sells them at a reasonable price. You might want to wait until you get your new opti harness on there. It might be the source of your trouble.
