Question Opti-Spark replacement

HI, This is my first post. I just purchased my camaro and it has a lot of mods I still need to discover. My problem is that I am experiencing a significant misfire problem at around 3500 to 4000RPM. I have been told by other LT1 owners that it is probibly the Opti Spark "Not exactly what they called it" and that I should replace it? My search for a replacement led me to Dynotech Engineering where they claim to have the ultimate replacement and it will be the last one I'll ever buy.

Has anyone tried this "DynaSpark" replacement and is it worth the money? Is the performance what they really say it is?

If you do a search you will find alot of info concerning Dynaspark. Did you check to see that it is not your coil? Is your computer throwing any codes?

Heres a guide you'll need to do it yourself either way....

OPti-Spark replacement

I have an Autotap and there are 4 codes. They all are related to the cooling fan problem that I am also having. I Got the Car from a dealer so I got a warranty which will cover the Fan problem and leaky water pump. But does not cover the Opti-Spark. The Autotap showed 364 misfires on various cylinders within a 3 mile drive around the block. It also had an Ignition timing of -14 to -64 Deg. with a Knock retard of 0 to 6 Deg. The car runs Great if I accelerate slowly or moderately. The power it has is amazing.

The Mods I have Noticed so far are: Flowmaster exost, BBK 58mm TB, k&N CAI, MSD 8.5mm Wires, Bosch Platnum +4's, Accel Fuel pressure Regulator setup, Fuel injectors are new but not sure what kind. still looking, only had it for 2 weeks.

Question. What does your autotap show your BLMS and sterms (might be called something difft in autotap. ITs the short term learns)

Anyway, just curious if missfirres make your o2s think it is running lean becuase of the extra air the O2s sesne from the unburned mixture. If that is the case I would think the BLMS and STERMS would be high (PCM adding fuel) to fix lean condition.

Just wondering as I have a problem with stumbling etc.. at low rpms and thought it could be opti realted, but my BLMS and sterms are low indicating it sees a rich condition.

Thanks

Jason

I have the Dynotech Engineering Optispark on my car. It works great. It is an extremely high-quality piece. Is it worth the price? To me it was, but others have differing opinions. I got mine on the group purchase price when they first came out. I am also not afraid of getting the engine wet with this thing.
