Opti Spark Question

I have a 94 camaro z28. Does the 94 camaro z28 have 2 different opti spark cuz i bought one from autozone and for some reason the new plug will not work but the old one will? Its just a OEM

93/94 LT1's use an "unvented" Opti that is driven by a splined shaft, off the cam sprocket. It has one harness connector configuration. 95-97 us a "vented" Opti thatis driven by the dowel pin in the nose of the cam. It has a different harness connector configuration.

Appears they gave you a "vented" (95-97) Opti, rather than the "unvented" (93/94) one.

The other possibility is that someone has converted your 94 to a vented Opti - requires substantial mdifications, including timing cover, harness connector, adding vacuum harness, new cam sprocket, cam replacement). Have you pulled the old Opti off yet?
