yup, like anything mechanical/electrical things will go bad, but the occurance of the optical sensor going bad is alot less likely than the other parts of the opti.

as far as the points i mentioned, i was refering to the spark plug wire terminals. those are the parts i would worry about most coz of the way the opti is designed , the terminals are extermely close and can arc over.
