opti shaft

On this style opti..

Is this shaft the same on both ends....so it doesn't matter which goes in opti & which goes in timing cover?

The other end of the shaft sticking out of the opti in the picture you posted is entirely different.

He means are both ends of the Opti splined shaft the same. I've flipped mine over when fiddling around with an old Opti, and the shaft seems so insert in either direction. I think there might be an O-ring on one end, but I can't remember.

yep there the same. u should be able to put it in either way and be good to go. pretty sure the orings are on the water pump shaft only.
