Opti seal

I just finished my opti install, and by the way the car runs great, my friend told me that I had to replace a seal that was inside the timing cover. I told him I didn’t see a seal when I pulled the old opti off and the hanyes manual didn’t say anything about a seal also. So is there one or not?

On your 1994 there is a seal around the drive shaft for the opti. Maybe yours won't leak.

If it is back together, running and not leaking, I wouldn't. Wait until it leaks or next time you have it apart.

Well I also noticed that the weep hole underneth the water was leaking. So sooner or later I will have to replace the water pump so will just put the seal in at that time. I tell you what, it is one thing or another with thses cars. Its like having a second full time job. My girlfriend hates the car, I spend more time and money on it then her!

Sorry babe

Just hope when you pull that water pump you dont ruin your new opti. I amd haivng headgaskets replaced on my car and I am praying they dont ruin my new opti when they pull the water pump.
