OPTI problem...I hope

I'm hoping someone can help me figure out my problem.
I have a 95Z28 with a 383 LT1, Hooker shorties, 3" Flowmaster Catback and a K&N CAI.

I had broken a belt which sliced my MSD 8mm wires so I put the stock ones back on. The car started to give signs of arcing and misfire, so I got new MSD wires and put in new plugs. While I was under the car I noticed I have a leak somewhere as the pulley is water stained OPTI face was a bit caked with crud, but no visible signs of water leaking from anywhere. Well with the new wires and plugs the car seems to run worse, as if I mixed up the firing order or I'm running on 6 cylinders. I triple checked all wire #'s and firing order is correct. But I swear the engine is going to shake itself out of the engine bay. I now noticed anti-freeze dripping from the low coolant sensor area. I had topped up rad, so I'm not sure if rad cap is bad or if I spilled some, but I'm definitley leaking somewhere as what is on the ground looks like more than what I put in. I decided to pull off the CAI so I could see more clearly as to what may be leaking and I notice a lot of stream/white smoke coming out of the throttle body. I also noticed water spray on the ground from my exhaust.

The engine is only 1 1/2 yrs old with maybe 10,000 KM on it. When I pulled the plugs, there were no signs of anti-freeze so I'm sure I haven't blown a head gasket. In the 8 yrs of owning this car I have never had to change the OPTI, so I'm hoping this is my problem and not something internally.

I hope I have covered everything, any and all help will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance, Allen

check the little heater hose that heats the intake...mine had a pinhole leak that only sprayed under pressure....guess where it went? right into the opti. i got the steam and white smoke too and after 10 or so minutes it ran like crap. i would let it sit for a few hours and it would restart and run good....ten mins later crap again......

i had to replace my opti due to this as it put crap all into the little slots in the opti disk.... might be whats wrong with yours.

Thanks and sounds feasible, but I did the TB bypass and have no hoses running into the throttle body. Also when I took my CAI off, there is no indication of water stains in or around the throttle body or bellow. I will definitely check this area out when I get home though.

Anyone else have some other good advice to try.

Thanks, Allen

I checked this area out again and found no indication of water dripping from or around the water pump or above. I looks like I do have a leak from the low coolant sensor which may be splashing coolant towards the OPTI.

My biggest concern though is the amount of water/moisture coming from the exhaust. It does not smell like anti-freeze, but it is alot more than I have ever seen. But then again I never really pay attention when I jump in the car and just drive away.

Could it just be an enormous amount of condensation on the stainless steel pipes due to the climate change and it's nothing to worry about?

When it gets cold out their is more condensation.

It was running fine before the belt broke? Re check that the wires are going to the correct plugs. Check and see if maybe the belt broke the wire to something else like the MAP or opti or IAT
