Opti Problem

ok guys here is a big problem for you. I just changed my opti. Ok so it went pretty well. So then i start it up. Had to jump it it was sitting for a while. Ok take it down the street. Wow driving nice. Ok give it a lot of gas. Revs up and putters im like o crap. And thne im like o **** i dont have a lot of tranny fluid in. Ok drive to the store pick some up pour it in. Now i rev and go fast its fine. Shut it off. Ok start driving again. Its 25MPH so im going 25. It goes up to 45 so i give it some gas. At 40 mph it wont go any faster. It just puts and puts but doesnt go n e faster. Itsnot even reving loud. I make it home some how cuz it feels like im going to stall. I open up my hood its liek 300 degrees under there. i feel one of the coolant lines and i burn myself. What could be the problem of this. It didnt missfire at first when i changed the opti. But now it wont go over 40 and its over heating. Did i change some wiring aroudn by mistake when i put it back together. Please get back asap

Did you mean antifreeze, instead of tranny fluid?

When you put antifreeze back, did you make sure to open the bleed off valves?

This is Shoebox's web page. Under How To's, there is a coolant drain and refill procedure. Do this.

Ok did it it worked. The temp of the engine is operating. But i just changed the opti. And now when i give it wot. It goes threw 1st gear with no problem. 2nd gear hits It just doest go. It just put put put put then i let off the gas and punch it again and it takes off. Then third gear comes it just stops accelerating and goes put put put in 3rd gear at like 60 mph. Since i just changed the opti. Could it be the wires? And i know there a bitch so what is the best way to get at them if it is.

its not the wires.
At WOT your trans should not be shifting into third till about 92 mph 2nd at about 42. if the engine RPMs are hitting the shift point of 5705 well before this MPH im guessing you are still low on tranny fluid.

Dave has a point. Since everything is good in first gear, it doesn't sound like a wire problem.

When you checked your tranny fluid, you did have the car running and the tranny warmed up, right?
