Opti prob (finding the right one)

Ok, I am having finding the right opti for my 94 Z28 for a decent price.

My friend Bill at Brat Motorsports is doing the work for me cheap.
First he thought we could convert my car to a vented setup so I ordered a 95 opti, cap and rotor, and just to make shure I ordered a 94 as well (I work at advance auto so I can order stuff and return it if I dont want to).
Well it was good I did because then we discovered how it had a totally different cam hookup.

So I then ordered the 94 cap and rotor, and it came in, but still had the vent at the bottom. Bill said it didn't matter and he could make it work.

Yesterday I get a call saying that it is all still wrong. I think he said the spacer plate is totally wrong, and possibly I still have the wrong opti.

So there are supposedly two setups for 94 right?
Well Rick (Bills associate) has a bunch of contacts, so he calls one and orders a full setup for about $450 which is his special price (which is still $170 more than it cost me for the 94 or 95 setup)
That comes in later today, but he said he is not shure it will work.
If it doesnt he says he will have to order it from a dealer, which is about $450 for the opti (over $600 list price ) and I think another $150 for the cap&rotor.

So I need to know first of all what opti setup I need, and where I can get it for a decent price!
I believe I have the first setup for 94.
Thanks
Adam

All 94 F bodys have the unvented splined shaft driven 'early' opti
All have it unless 'upgraded' [by a previous owner perhaps?] to later vented style
A GM opti comes complete with cap and rotor.. p/n GM 10457702

These guys can get you a GM opti for about 280 ish[unvented]

Yeah I went through all that myself. For some reason all the auto parts stores 94 cap and rotor is actually a 95+ one. Look up one for the 93, it's the correct cap and rotor but it cost like 200 bucks which is more than the rebuilt 93 opti alone. In fact Advance Auto's rebuilt 93 opti didnt even come with the splined driveshaft. They couldn't even find it in the catalog seperately. Just get a complete one from the post above. It's the best price you will get for a complete nonvented opti w/ the cap and rotor. It's like 300 I believe.

thats odd.
I bought the 94 opti from advance auto and put a vented cap on it (blocked off the vent tube) and popped it on there and it has been good to go ever since.
Never had a problem with it fitting or anything, works great.

Well we actually did order a cap and rotor set for a 93 F-bod, and it came without that freaking spacer plate, and supposedly the vented cap's spacer plate was wrong.

Our second plan was to use a vented cap with a non-vented opti and still run a line to the intake tubing, but that didnt work.

If its not too late I will give Jason a call, but it may be.
Rick got the complete setup from a dealer for like $450, which he claims was his discounted price.
