Opti-Direct Ignition

How many of you have this and is it any good?. It seems better then buying the whole opit itself.

I might be wrong, but it looks like it still uses the opti for the high res rpm sensor and the low rest crank position sensor.

That's the part that was causing my high rpm miss, so it wouldn't have helped.

That part would never go in the opti had the opti not undergone high voltage which causes rust in the optispark by the ozone created through a spark jumping, this rusts the opti inside even when vented & sometimes causes the electrical part aswell as the cap & rotor to fail.

Without this High voltage spark your optispark is just another sensor rotating which mostly likely will never fail.

Well, on mine when the miss occurred the RPM tach signal would drop, which is completely unrelated to the distributor part. The tach signal is generated by the optical sensors, so in my case that's the part that was causing the problem.

So don't say never...
