Doing install...noticed that stock springs had a retainer type device on bottom of springs....new Crane springs do not...I assume the shim is the only thing that seperates the spring from the head......thanks

 

The Crane kit comes with shims that replace the stock spring seats. I didnt like the shims so I bought some Comp Cams 4770 seats and all is well.

 

Are these springs fine to use with the lt4 hot cam kit and hardend pushrods and ported heads? They arent to much pressure are they?

Whats the need to change the shims out that they give you with the kit? Do they cause problems?
