just a quick question has any one clean the insides of the opti to see if it would last longer or work better.

Mine has 120k on it and i just now started to have problems with it so if i cleaned it will it last for a few mounths till i get a delteq.

Re: opti crap

I have the same problem, combined with my exchaust popping when I floor it. When/if I figure it out I'll fill you in. I've heard a few different things now so I've been thinkin I'll wait. If its the opti maybe it will crap out totally & then I'll know for sure.

Re: opti crap

I think if you remove it, take it apart and start trying to clean the inside of it you'll run more of a risk of the thing not working when you get it back together. I'd chance it hanging on for a few months until you are ready for the delteq. If it craps out you can have my old opti, it runs good except for not firing the #7 cylinder

Re: opti crap

This may not apply to your situation, but I think I solved my problem by removing the hypertech programming & going back to stock. The car seems to idle better & the popping is gone. I am going to have GM check for any tripped codes before I reinstall the HPP2 programming.
