And? Any codes? sounds like you may still have the timing off by one tooth on the spline, in otherwords take that opti off and be 100% sure it is on correctly, also double check your plug wires I know you said you did but it can't hurt to check again. If you are 150% positive of both your opti installation and your plug wire routing begin looking towards other problems. You say it idles and runs horribly is that right on start up or after a few minutes of running? If it runs ok for a while look into your o2 sensors.

no it is when i start it up. but i dont see how i can have it off any that spline 0nly goes in 2 diff spots the first tim i put it on car would not start at all. now it dose. if plug wires are not on good will it tend to backfire. i dont see how i can have the spline in the wrong way. and are you thinking it is in the cam sproket wrong or in the opti wrong.

In the course of posting here over a 10 year period, I'd guess I have seen at least a dozen cases of people who were 100% certain they didn't screw up the splines.... only to eventually find out they did.

We still didn't get an answer on whether there were any codes, only that you checked for them.

I'll drop the subject since it appears you aren't really interested in what I have to say.

That's odd.... the thousands of other people I've helped over the year don't seem to think so. But you're entitled to your opinon.

Good luck.

You may have a bad opti. From the sounds of your first post you are trying to put on a new one. Where did you get it from? It could be DOA.
