Opinions on stroker buildup parts
Opinions on stroker buildup parts
Ok decided not to go fully forged as a few friends and machinist said it would be overkill for what I wanted. Need some opinions from actual lt1 owners.
Basically, what I want is a reliable motor, im not looking for a lot of performance but will have one track meet per season (basically every thirdgen gathering here in Texas). Im looking to shift at 6200 at the track. Gonna go stock heads (possible LE1), CC306, cloyes double roller, electric pump. Just want something torquey, reliable, and fun when I want it to be:

Now will this hold up pretty well? I don't plan to spray or force induct ever with this engine, I got 2 blocks, so I may do it to the second one when the time arises. Opinions? Thanks.

Re: Opinions on stroker buildup parts
well, stock lt2 rods and crank will hold 500hp and a good amount of rpm. don't know excactly what, but i've personally seen some live healthy lives seeing 6800 rpm. you'll be fine there. if you really want to go 383, there are a lot of cast cranks out there. i'm not sure which ones are best. myabe u could go with a 5140 forged crank. but if you want torquey cams, you're not going to want the cc306 on stock heads. little too wild for stock heads, although it has been done many times. if you want torque, you're probably going to want something with lower duration on both intake and exhaust. hotcam, cc305, XE 224/230 are all well praised cams for the most part. those cams will all give you more benefits on stock heads, vs a cc306, le2, etc.
Re: Opinions on stroker buildup parts
Actually thinking of going LE1 heads, had the cc306 in the car already and its plenty torquey
. So overall its a good setup for what I need? Im basically concerned going hyper pistons since everyone seems to think these are the weakest link the in the stock lt1 configuration, or would that be just the stock hyper pistons just aren't good?
