Question Opinions before car gets worked on

Ok, so the car is getting a new clutch, water pump, radiator, intake manifold fix, plugs, wires and head gaskets for sure. My question is to get a new opti and timing set or not?

The car has 98K miles and my only car right now. It is a '96, so it has the newer opti, but since it is all coming apart would it be worth the investment now to get the opti and timing set replaced?

thanks.

if you have the money do it now while all the parts are already off the engine. the vented opti is only about $230 from the big three direct guys. do searches for dal, jason and i forget the third guys name.

If it is the stock opti then I would just for insurance. But I doubt its stock if it looks clean there should be no reason to replace it. (as long as the shop doesnt deuche it with water when taking your H20 pump off. )

Thanks for the replies. Any thoughts about the timing set?
