Open LT's or not??
Open LT's or not??
I am getting ready to dyno tune my car this weekend and I asked the people that own the dyno if I can run open headers, and they said yes. Would I most benefit from this or through my restrictive flowmaster? I planned on running open headers at the track, so I figured I should dyno it like that. Someone told me I would gain hp and lose torque, but I just wanted to know what everyone thought.
Thanks,
Benji

Just so you know, I have a Flowmaster 80 series muffler on my car. I then got a DMH cutout put on and I improved 1.5sec on my 1/4 mile ET and 1.5mph! (That's with the cat still on) With open long tubes I'm not sure if you'll lose/gain much torque, but your hp will be guaranteed be significantly improved!
I am having it tuned by the Horse Power Factory and I believe the guy uses lt1 edit. But how can he tune my car for street and strip?? Or did you mean if I had an lt1 edit? Either way, I figured the tune for open Lt's would be pretty close even when it was running through full exhaust. Thanks, for the help.

A local fellow here with a 96 T/A ported heads, and CC306 cam, LTs into a 3 inch cat-back gained a subsatntial amount of HP and torque with the cut-outs open.
