Borla exhaust-rapping out??
I have a 95 Camaro z28 with a Borla Catback. I recently removed my catalytic converter and replaced with normal piping. Now, when I accelerate in the car above 4k rpm, the car begins to rap out and almost sound like a chainsaw!! At idle, the car sounds really good, but I need a fix to get rid of this. I tried the different plates in the Borla and nothing has worked so far......Please help!!
i did that... i put cats back on the car.
Went dual 3inch car soundcats on a custom 3 inch ypipe. Sounds much better now... 2 3" carsound cats can support over 400rwhp without any power loss. They are 35 bucks each on ebay.
And i stopped smelling like gas after an hour of driving.

You have three options:
1. Replace the cat.
2. Replace the muffler/cat-back.
3. Live with it.

got the same set up except with the cat, planning on going to a carsound cat or something to get rid of the stocker when i get my header/y-pipe, one of the problems with borla is, your manifolds are so restrictive, and the borla isn't at all, jsut a big cut-out as mentioned before, so you go from a lot of pressure to nothing and the exhaust pops real bad, check and make sure there arent any exhasut leaks anywere along the pipe, even with the cat mine pops a bit more than normal , hoping that my headers over stock manifold theory might be somewhat rightm anyways. theres my two cents.

That is why I switched exhaust to GMMG from Borla. With my Hooker LTs and no cats my Borla sounded like crap. Like mentioned above there isn't much you can do about it except change exhaust, put the cat back on, or live with it.
