Open headers, X pipe, Y? whers the cut outs go?

Been doing some searching, and got some good info, but confused myself too.
I'll have hooker LTs and was thinking put two cutouts so its like open headers, but then when closed have it go into a Y then through Cats and muffler.

but then I read and said that scavaging was good, so would a single cut out behind the Y be better then? I thought equal length headers like the hookers didnt need scavaging.

Then I read a bit about the X pipe for ture duals...

and well what should I do? I still like my original idea, unless the 3" Y would give better gains.
but what about the X??

i have true duals with bullets now, but it is too loud for the cops.
i will be switching to a dual cutouts (at the header flange) with electric cutouts, then regular QUIET exhaust.

the difference is probably minimal. im not sure which would be better. maybe somebody will tell us.

Cops? your duals are really that loud?

I know the open headers are gonna be loud, but thats alright, I'll have the normal exhaust a switch away.

Im still thinking about trying a Set Of Flowtech Prple Hornies like on my truck, Ive got pics in my sig if you wanna see. I only know one guy on hre who had them on his car and he said that they were pretty tolerable at idle and just cruising around but at WOT they were friggin INsane. Also they were alot more radical sounding than True duals. .

Its a cheap set up and cost me like 83 bucks through jegs for 2 of them.

for the price you cant beat so They would be worth giving them a try.

Later,
-John

my mccord power plate leaked pretty bad, it lasted for 3 months then the gears broke, he mailed me more replacement gears, one week later it broke again.

i hear the DMH do not leak at all.

QTP is another brand, the are better than Mccord, but DMH is the best.
