Is open header bad?

I have Slp headers with a cut out before the cat. i was wondering if that is bad for the valves due to lack of back pressure and i just wanted to know if low back pressure is bad on an LT1?

Thanks.

Well if those arn't LT headers then i wouldn't do it at all. Even with LT's i wouldn't recommend it on a lightly modded car. Also like on my lt's my o2's are welded right before the collectors. So if i ran open headers i would get crazy reading from the o2's.

I think its because of the lack of backpressure and that you have your O2's right there and the wind will blow against them. At least thats what happens with my shorties.
