Well...gee whiz guys----he said he wanted to spend the least amount of money, so the "least amount of money" is to not spend any money at all unless it is necessary.

As far as "just help the guy out"---I thought that is what I was doing.

If his question was which is the most effective, or best, or cheapest, tornado, I suppose I should just answer his question without giving him the benefit of my experience that it would be a waste of money if he even got one at all.

If you don't need to get another plenum because yours is not broken, and spending money on one will not get you any increase in HP or performance, however the reason you want to get one, is just because you want one for whatever reason, then knock yourself out.

But if this is your attitude and you don't want anyones opinion reagarding the benefit or advantage of doing a mod or spending money on a so-called enhancement, then hey-----it's your mouth, you can haul coal in it if you want to.

Never said that, I value everyone of your opinions. I never post on here unless i'm trying to learn something about our cars. I claim to be no expert, that's why I have someone else build my engine. From what I gather you are pretty much saying that the upgraded elbow has no effect on performance. That's why I want to purchase one, not so much that it adds HP b/c I don't see how any 80 dollar elbow could add a noticable amount anyways, but, I want it for reduce turblance from air entering the TB, which may help HP. Now about the coal and the mouth and hauling something in it, well I'm going to blow that off as j/k humor, since this is a board of grown men seeking each others help, So thanks for the info and have a good day buddy!

Understood: yes, the coal in the mouth is an old saying essentially meaning that it's your car, your money, your choice, your opinion, your belief, etc. It's an all in one way of saying those things.

But do you see what I was getting at----even if it does reduce turbulence, it doesn't mean that you are going to benefit by increasing air flow, hp or anything else.

And...the reason, I answered the way I did, is because, I have bought into many of the so-called power increasing mods and had someone informed me beforehand, I could have put that money towards something that was "proven" to provide benefitial results.

Yes, you did get some good/direct answers from some of the best, most knowlegable people on the board and they answered your question, rather than questioning your reasoning----my bad.

Back when I actually had time to work on my car, I pulled the silencer tube out of the bellows, cut the top few inches off it, and pushed the short piece up into the hole in the bellows, until the plastic tube was in the air stream. I scribed a line on the plastic tube, flush with the inside edge of the bellows surface, pulled the tube out, and cut/ground it until the inside edge of the tube exactly matched the contours of the bellows. Filled the tube with 2-part epoxy, and when it set, carefully sanded it until it exactly matched the contour of the hole in the bellows. Coated the outside of the tube with sensor-safe RTV, and pushed the home-made plug into the bellows, and tightend a stainless band clamp around the part the tube pushed into. End result - looked good when the bellows was off the car. I seriously doubt that it provided anything beyond that.

Wish I had that much time on my hands now.....

man you did have alot of time on your hands.......it'd be worth 80 bucks to me just to tighten two hose clamps and be done-now that I have a wife and child those fun things like that, that we use to spend in the garage is now a far cry for our childhood back-then you hear the wife say get off the damn computer and stop looking at cars to waste your money on! okay dear

THANK YOU SIR!!!

Does anyone have Jason's number handy so I can call him? ALSO (Shoebox) what's the part # you have...maybe I have the wrong one. I'm just wanting to reduce turb. and get rid of the donky piece! Sorry if I failed to say that in the post i just figured it was implied
Jason's number was in the link to my site that Injuneer gave you. I don't know how you could have missed it.
The part number I have is also posted in my parts list. It appears you are looking without seeing.

Oh, as far as it being a "performance piece", it is not. I don't know that I have heard of any intake elbow adding HP.

As for my .02 I had the plug and never had any problems with it "falling out" when I put it in it was a little taller and stuck out into the air intake path so I had to grind it down to make it smooth with the natural path inside the elbow. Maybe they have fixed it. I recommend using a vortech or trick flow elbow myself they look nice, are smooth inside and cost about the same.
Here's the vortech.. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...alse&N=700+115

And the trick flow.. http://store.summitracing.com/egnsea...DS=1&N=700+115
You could fit a trickflow elbow inside a 1le fwiw.

At this moment in time, I recall at least 2 things that I wish would have/would happen: (1) that my mechanic(s) were as knowlegable and competant as Engineer and Shoe (2) that I would have to call my Doctor after 4 hours.

You are correct Shoebox, the elbow does not add additional HP...The long tube "Donkey D!ck" was design to keep air noise down..... Hasnt this been discussed before??????????????????

Shoe & Injueer, I know you have links I've been on them numerous times they are great. I can't access them from work, that's why i ask for the number.

I called Jason, they are not discontinued, which pisses me off that a dealer would say that and mark up the price.

Anyways after all this I'm opting out of buying one, hey but learned alot
