Which one of these LT1's should I get?
Which one of these LT1's should I get?
I've narrowed it down to two LT1's. BOOST FED 95Z's, and AHARTZ28's.
Only problem is that I can't decide which one to get! Here's a lil info on each:
BOOST FED: '95 Camaro Z28, Vortech s-trim w/ aftercooler, 224/236 114lsa cam, forged internals, 700r4 tranny
AHART: '94 Camaro Z28, 383 stroker, forged internals, 230/230 110lsa cam, built 4l60e
Ahart's will have one nasty *** sound coming from that and the true duals.
I simply can't decide. Both are appealing cars, but the main thing is, I know and have met Ahart, and I know he knows what he's doing (he's a GM tech btw). Not to talk down on Boost, but the soul fact is that I don't know him and I don't know how the engine was built, etc. So my concern with his car is how well it was built up and how much the person that did it knows about the engine.
What are ya'lls opinions? Anyone who knows either of these people feel free to share your comments.
And Ryan and Boost, ya'll aren't allowed to respond to the thread

Really need more information on both cars and price before making an informed decision. One thing to take into account however, on EITHER CAR... is that these "projects" are seldom, if ever, finished. Anytime you're dealing with high HP motor, you're also dealing with every other pissy little thing on the car that wasn't built to take the abuse breaking as well. (ask me how I know!!!)
There's a reason why so many people build awesome motors, then turn around and sell the car a few months later for less than they have invested in mods alone. These projects have a tendency to snowball.
Before you get into either of these machines, ask yourself if you have the time and money to dedicate to maintaining and finishing these projects. Then, pick the lesser of two evils.
Good luck!

I have met Boostfed95Z. His car definately has potential. I think you will be happy with it. It is a strong pulling car. It was built by a reputable shop in the Roanoke area. They have several strong LT1's in the area. Also, they have a few tube chassis cars that they run.
Good luck with your decision!!
