Is it okay to use gasket maker on the T/B top plate instead of the rubber?

I suppose you can use it, but I wouldn't use it if it has silicone in it, since it might throw your 02s into a frenzy. JMHO

How is silicon on the throttle body going to throw off the O2s??? I would just be sure to clean it up after it dries. You thinkt he TB is going to get so hot that gasses are let off from the gasket maker?

I can't say for certain that it will affect anything. Just wouldn't want any of the fumes to get into my intake system and would opt for something without the silicone to be on the safe side. That's just me.

the lines on the top plate of the t/b go the the evap canister solinoid vaccum and the suction side of the pcv system on the top of the passenger side of the valve cover. i have mine sealed on with mega blue gasket maker, you will be fine.

The top line runs to the PCV system, the bottom line runs to the EVAP. The bottom line runs to a machined vaccum port on the back of the TB

You can use anything to seal it. The only thing it will affect is vaccum if you don't get it to seal properly. The vaccum from the front of the TB is what works part of the PCV system. I suggest using a thin piece of cardboard with a little sealant around it just to make sure.
