Okay, so i'll be drivin around highway speed...

My car stumbles a bit. Somtimes going uphill always in the 2k range on the rpm. Every other time its fine. The intake elbow i asked you guys about before is ripped, and i had a brand new opti put in. Is there anything else that could be causing this?

One shop said I should hook it up to a dyno and they didn't have one or something lol i don't know. I just want to make sure i'm not driving it and causing damage by having some major problem i have no clue about or something.

I just know there's a pretty significant rip on that intake elbow, not huge huge but enough that if there's any sort of compression or anything i could see it opening up maybe. Which also worries me cuz that would be unfiltered air right?

I got that part ordered i'm just waiting for it in the mail. I just don't know what else it could be tho. I thought for sure the opti would fix all that.

Unfiltered and unmetered air. You definitaly need to get the elbow fixed or replaced.

I'd start with checking the fuel pressure at Key on/engine off, then with engine running, then tape it to the windshield and drive around and see if you see anything odd with it. Does the stumble coincide with any drop on the gauge.

Then if that checks out OK I'd move to the ignition system.

Thanks for the reply guys.

I have had my Opti done, with new plugs and new wires. I forgot to mention that above i think.

When I get this intake elbow it should be interesting to see if that is what's causing it.

Next step will be that fuel pressure, as was suggested to me above, for sure.

You need to add a "Signature" with basic info about your car - year, model, engine trans and major mods. That would be a bit more useful than what's there now.

As noted in a response above, in the MAF cars, not only is the air dirty, but it's bypassing the MAF sensor, and making it harder for the PCM to control the A/F ratio. Could contribute to stumbling and misfires.

But we don't know if your car has an MAF sensor, because you didn't tell us what year it is. A 93 speed-density setup would not like the dirty air, but there is no MAF sensor to bypass, so that part of the problem goes away.

Not all years of the LT1 are identical.

lol, yes i should know better. Sorry about that.

I have a 1994 Z28 with the Mass Air Flow Sensor.

It's the 5.7L with the 4L60-E tranny i think it is, whatever the stock tranny was. It's rebuilt completely with a stage II shift kit and a transmission cooler.

Sounds good. I will put plugs and wires back on the list of possibilities if this doesn't work.

It's still kind of a trip to me that i'm on here talking about my Camaro on this site. Me and my uncle used to come to this site when we were around or just before driving age. Now i'm on here actually talking about MY Camaro, a Camaro that's actually mine, haha. Sometimes you just gotta take a step back sometimes haha.
